Raju is the main suspect in the multi-crore Satyam Computers accounting scam, which was uncovered last year. At the time Raju resigned as its chairman and admitted to major financial wrong-doings while talking about a last minute effort to fill ficticious assets with real ones regarding the failed Maytas acquisition.
However, he hasn't yet appeared in the court citing health reasons. This has led to Harin P Raval, the Additional Solicitor General, on the behalf of the CBI, to file for an application before the court requesting it to form a special team of doctors to look in to the health condition of Raju.
He had said the CBI was doubtful about the validitity of the reports submitted by the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) on Raju's health.
According to the Times of India, Raval has also argued against the bail petition claiming that it is not maintainable, as the Supreme Court while dismissing the bail plea filed by the petitioner earlier in March observed that the application can be renewed after some time. He had said the Apex Court did not specify that the petitioner should approach the high court at a later date for bail.
